Graduate Trainee Financial Advisor

 
We are seeking a career minded, articulate and numerate recent Finance Graduate looking to build a career within the financial advice sector, who is looking to study for CII professional qualifications whilst working.

In addition to supporting a Chartered Financial Planner, specialising in pensions, the role will involve a combination of analytical reporting, technical administration work and conducting fact finding. As you develop your skills and attain qualifications you will then have the opportunity to work more closely with clients and offer financial advice once qualified.

Independent Financial Advisor


This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced IFA who is looking for fresh challenges and a desire to be part of and help build a growing business through current Turpin Barker Armstrong clients, cross referrals, the IFA’s current contacts and from other sources such as networking and lead generating introduces.

With a primary focus on pensions in addition to investments and protection the successful candidate will:

  • Have a minimum of 2 years Advisor experience working within a regulated IFA practitioner
  • Preferably CII Dip PFS qualified although applicants with only 2 exams to sit may be considered
  • Ideally a portfolio of clients to bring to our firm
  • Be able to demonstrate your ‘client first’ approach to financial Services
  • Proficiency in assessing clients overall financial picture, understand their needs and develop a solid financial plan, providing  strategic advice across a variety of financial products and services, guiding clients towards a secure financial decision
  • Demonstrable track record of converting leads into new business, networking and developing a portfolio
  • Be driven with a strong understanding of the current Financial Market 
  • Be personable with excellent communications, negotiation and presentation skills with attention to detail and the ability to explain complex information clearly and simply
  • Comply with all industry rules and regulations
  • Keep abreast of new industry trends and research market

Package

Senior Insolvency Administrator

 
  • The successful candidate will have managed a high volume of their own portfolio of cases from appointment to closure on a variety of corporate work and ideally with some personal insolvency.
  • A minimum of 4 year’s case administrator experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrable attention to detail.
  • Ideally supervision of junior staff.
  • A sound working knowledge of IPS.
  • A levels – A-C
  • CPI qualifications is desirable but not essential
  •  Office hours 8.30-5.45 Mon-Thurs,  8.30-1.00pm Fridays (37.5 hours per week)

Bookkeeper

 
Working in the Accountancy Department with 19 colleagues and 3 Partners, within an accountancy practice of 50 staff, the successful candidate will be dealing with a variety of clients including Limited Companies, Sole Traders and Partnerships, carrying out general bookkeeping duties including VAT returns and up to trial balance.

Candidate Profile
  • Proficient in QuickBooks online to a high standard
  • Gook experience/knowledge or Sage and Excel 
  • A minimum of 3 years’ bookkeeping experience, preferably   in Practice/working on multiple clients
  • Experienced in VAT calculations/returns
  • Experience of CIS would be an advantage
  • Experience of Xero or other cloud based accounting desirable 
  • Presentable with excellent communications skills due to   client contact
  • Driver with car would be preferable
  • Living reasonably local to Sutton
  • Salary according to experience
  • 3 month probationary period
  • All offers subject to 5 years of references which are deemed satisfactory to the Practice, evidence of the right to work in the UK and a clear standard DBS check.
