Tax Manager


Having served our clients for over 35 years, we are continuing to grow our teams  based in Sutton and West Byfleet,  and are seeking a mixed Tax Manager to lead and develop the firm’s tax services whilst maintaining the existing client portfolio.

The successful candidate will have extensive mixed tax experience and will be ATT/ CTA qualified. Alternatively, a qualified ACA or ACCA with strong tax experienced gained as part of a business services role could be considered provided they had a strong proven experience towards tax project work.
 
You will be confident dealing with your clients' needs and be forthcoming with accurate advice and suggestions for their businesses. You will be ambitious and have a desire to progress and help to grow the firm's client base.  This is very much a client facing role as a key trusted adviser of the Practice, with a desire to always deliver excellence in all that you do.

Your role

With excellent technical and interpersonal skills, you will provide technical knowledge and experience to support the taxation services of the firm, managing a portfolio of personal and corporate clients with a bias towards personal clients. These will include HNWIs, SMEs, OMBs, groups and partnerships.  You will assist your varied client base with advisory projects as well as handle the responsibility for the associated complex compliance work.

Managing project work will include but not limited to directors, R&D, income tax, capital gains, inheritance, trusts and estates, share incentive schemes, capital allowances, VAT, R&D, tax credits, corporation tax including quarterly instalment payments, remuneration / exit strategies and EIS/SEIS. You will manage more junior members of the department, review elements of their work, and training where appropriate.

Audit Senior


The Audit Senior position within firm represents an excellent opportunity for career progression

You’ll be ACCA or ACA qualified and ideally have a 2:1 degree and a minimum of three years of accountancy practice experience working in an audit role.

The role will predominantly focus on leading and delivering statutory and specialist audit services to a broad portfolio of clients with an 80% audit and 20% non-audit split.

As an Audit Senior, you will have regular contact with clients, often visiting client sites to conduct audit activities. You’ll need excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with clients quickly, always aiming to deliver customer service excellence.

With complete responsibility for planning and completing audits, you’ll need to be technically strong with close attention to detail and have a can-do attitude to problem-solving; you’ll also be a self-starter who is motivated to see projects through to completion promptly within the budgeted time scale.

Job Purpose
  • Reporting to the Audit Partner, the role will primarily focus on leading and delivering statutory and specialist audit services with an 80% audit /20% non-audit split.
  • Prepare statutory accounts for some audit clients.
  • Prepare corporation tax returns and directors’ [personal tax returns for some audit clients.
  • Provide accountancy and advisory services to support the wider team.
  • Design and lead audits from planning through to completion, liaising with the team and client where necessary.
  • Conduct or support pre-audit and post-audit meetings with clients.
  • Using accounting software, prepare and finalise audit files in readiness for review.
  • Monitor and control job budgets ensuring that audits are completed on time and within budget.
  • Review junior colleagues' work and encourage prompt and high-quality delivery and service.
  • Contribute to the firm’s growth by retaining existing clients and building relationships with prospective clients.
Job Requirements
  • ACA, or ACCA qualified
  • Ideally a 2.1 degree
  • Demonstrable experience in an audit position within an accountancy practice providing client services whilst ensuring adherence to individual job budgets and maximum fee recovery
  • Technically proficient with experience in leading audits
  • Working experience of Sage accounting suit of accounting software including SAPA, Sage Corporation Tax and Sage Personal Tax

Senior Insolvency Administrator

As licensed Insolvency Practitioners, this the Corporate Recovery and Insolvency Division promotes a rescue culture and encourages those facing difficulties to seek early advice. Our Insolvency Team, is a mixture of qualified and non-qualified professionals.

The successful candidate will have managed their own portfolio of cases from appointment to closure.  

The primary requirements of this position are:

  • Full lifecycle management of a high volume of portfolio of cases to include a variety of corporate work.
  • Maintain fully accurate case files, ensuring they meet with statutory requirements.
  • Preparing reports to creditors and attending meetings.
  • Statutory reporting.
  • Instructing other professionals.
  • Effective communications with a range of stakeholders, creditors, debtors, directors, solicitors and other professionals.
Qualifications, skills and experience required:
  • A minimum of 3 year’s case administrator experience.
  • Proven success managing a varied case load in an insolvency/restructuring and recovery practice.

Assistant Insolvency Administrator

As licensed Insolvency Practitioners, this the Corporate Recovery and Insolvency Division promotes a rescue culture and encourages those facing difficulties to seek early advice. Our Insolvency Team, is a mixture of qualified and non-qualified professionals.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 1.5 years’ experience within an insolvency environment, ideally at a boutique size practice, with some exposure of managing a small portfolio of cases from appointment to closure.

The primary requirements of this position are:

  • Full lifecycle management of a small portfolio of straight forward cases
  • Assisting management with larger more complex cases.   
  • Maintain fully accurate case files, ensuring they meet with statutory requirements.
  • Preparing reports to creditors.
  • Statutory reporting.
  • Effective communications with a range of stakeholders, creditors, debtors, directors, solicitors and other professionals.

Qualifications, skills and experience required:
  • A minimum of 1.5 year’s case administrator experience.
