I’m someone who has not had a great deal of experience of working in a small office, I’ve always worked for very large companies with huge offices and large teams, Optima couldn’t be more opposite ! Fortunately, I am working with people who are hugely knowledgeable and great to get along with.
I have always worked in financial services in the broad sense, however I have known for a while that I would like to get into the world of financial advice. Thankfully, my previous experience of working in banking, protection and pensions led me to apply for the role of Financial Services Administrator.
It has been a huge learning curve for me so far and I know I still have a very long way to go. New systems, learning new products and procedures inside out, customer fact finds, risk profiling, income payments, Investments, suitability reports… the list is endless.
I’ve attended a client meeting with Martin which was very interesting and it was great to see him in action. The amount of admin associated with the role has also been quite an eye-opener. I’ve been learning new things as each day goes by and can honestly say, everyday has been different.
I’m enjoying the role so far and look forward to what the future holds. Can I see myself following in Martin’s footsteps ? Maybe one day…
