Financial protection for renters is a must

Financial protection for renters is a must

Published: 01/10/2019 By Martin Card

In a recent article published by Legal & General statistics were published stating 1 in 4 households will be private renters by 2023. However, at least 41% of these individuals or families will not have in place any financial protection to ensure their bills can be met if they were unable to work due to sickness or accident or worse if they were to die or become critically ill.

With renters spending on average 40% of their income to cover household costs (double what owner occupiers spend) there is never a more important time to talk about protection.

Financial protection should be the foundation of all of our financial plans ensuring a roof can be kept over the heads of our families and our children can be looked after.
